My background in psychology and over five years of teaching experience has allowed me to work with a range of students with various abilities and learning needs. This has allowed me to develop a range of different strategies that I can use to tailor tuition to the individual needs of the students I teach. I am passionate about my subject and seek to inspire similar passions in my students. As a Geography specialist, I am able to help students from the start of their secondary school journey at KS3 right the way through to their final exams in Sixth Form, be this IB or A-level.
As the Head of Geography at the UCL Academy I have been able to design a robust curriculum to help inspire students from the beginning of their secondary school experience, and this has given me extensive experience and knowledge of teaching Geography at KS3 level.
I have worked with exam boards as an examiner which has given me invaluable experience of what is required to achieve the highest grades in Geography exams. As a classroom teacher I have an in-depth understanding of the GCSE curriculum and have worked with many students to bring their grades up to the highest they can possibly be.
I have also worked with numerous Sixth Form students to help them be successful in their final school exams in both A-level and IB Geography. In addition to this I have worked with students to prepare their UCAS applications and write their personal statements, many of whom have gone on to receive offers from, and attend, Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.
