Harmish impressed me; a very focussed together young man, as good at discussing his approach and my daughter's progress with me as he was at engaging with the youngster herself. E was an excellent choice for A. Knowing that he is a kinaesthetic learner she went to great lengths to enhance his learning through diagrams and activities. She also ensured plenty of breaks when she saw A's concentration lagging. The proof for me was seeing A really enjoy the lessons which is great given that Biology & Chemistry are subjects he finds really challenging

He really warmed to her - she is bright and clear, but most importantly relates to him as a student: the way he thinks, the motivations he has, the issues he's facing. So she is focussed on helping him where he needs the help (rather than just telling him what she thinks all students ought to know). Perhaps this is in part because she is still studying herself? Anyway, we were delighted with her. Thank you!

T had Camilla as a bit of an intensive blast for Geography and she was absolutely fantastic. She was so jolly and great fun and T says that she really helped him understand a lot of things he had doubts about. We could not recommend her highly enough! She is brilliant!

M did brilliantly in her GCSEs and in the subjects where she got extra help from Ivy Education she exceeded expectations, she somehow managed to get an 8 in French and got two 9s in Science and a 9 in Maths. Jacques gave her a real confidence boost and despite the short period of time he had to work with her he managed to find the key areas to work on to pull up her grade. Klevis equally worked on her confidence and clarified areas in Chemistry in particular where she was in a muddle.

Will has been great - very diligent, compassionate and encouraging. He helped L tremendously. Her predictive grade for Math is a 'A' which will need to tested against her results in August but this is a huge improvement on her previous grades. We were very happy overall and would love to have Will tutoring L in the future.

Fatma is an amazing tutor, words can hardly express her talent. My daughter A is very comfortable with her. We are highly impressed with her teaching skill. A was struggling with Economics but Fatma's way of teaching makes it much easier for A to understand the subject. Fatma is not only an excellent tutor, she is also very polite, very accommodating and punctual with her timing. I am so fortunate to have such a good tutor who has been a good example for a teenager like A. She has motivated her to get ready for a good university, as well as to work hard for a brighter future. I have been meaning to email you to say how pleased we are with the hard work and dedication that Lora is putting into pushing D through AS-level French. You are right to describe her enthusiasm as infectious and she has gone to a lot of trouble to figure out the AQA specifications. Fingers crossed we can do enough to ensure that he gets a reasonable grade in the summer.

I'm glad to say that young T reports back very favourably on the weekend's work. He had his first Maths exam on Monday and tells me that it went well and that the preparation he received from Tom was excellent and just what he needed. I had a short phone call with Tom afterwards and was impressed by his manner and the detail of feedback he was able to give me on the pupil. Very useful for me to pass on to his new American school. I wouldn't have any hesitation in approaching Tom for Maths tuition in the future. Thank you for sending me someone so good.

Joseph has been an enormous help to A. He has given her confidence as well as identifying areas that required further work. As a result she completed the first part of her Maths iGCSE last week and was able tackle it with a new found confidence and in a relatively calm way. She is about to have a session with Joseph today which will help sort out some last minute areas that she is unsure of. We are very grateful that the tutoring has been successful and will certainly be in touch should we require tutoring in the future.

Many thanks for your lovely email re S's iGCSE results. Her final count is 8 A*'s, 2 A's and 1 B for Maths! Which is a fantastic result. Alex sweetly texted S to see how she did which was very kind of him. She started back at Kings on Tuesday and is hard to believe she is in lower sixth! Her A-level choices are: French, Philosophy, English Literature and Biology. Many thanks for all your support for S and will be in touch if she needs any further help in the future.

I was particularly pleased with Chris, who was extremely helpful throughout the process - not only was he very well organised about our classes but he also offered advice and tips for what to focus on and how best to study for the other topics. Charlotte was also very helpful; as soon as we got into a groove and she had a proper chance to delve into the BPP syllabus she was fantastic and very supportive. Both Chris and Charlotte were flexible and pretty much always accessible to me, which was wonderful. I would definitely have them as tutors again.

S has really found all her sessions with Alex very useful indeed. Her mocks start tomorrow so I did mention to Alex that once she gets her results I will let you both know. Alex is a lovely young man and a great tutor. He is punctual, reliable, very organised and thorough. He explains everything to S and then makes her get on with it. He always gives feedback and positively encouraging and just gets her! S really likes him and says he really helps her understand everything much more. I have found Ivy Education and yourself to be very professional - you always follow up for feedback and always try to customise your service to meet each person's individual requirements. (Not easy I am sure at times). I do think it also helps from your prospective - as you know the pressures on these students from the schools they attend and also the standard from the parents - especially when they have been through a system like Thomas's!

I'm pleased to say that E achieved A*, A*, A, and her place at Oxford. The A was in French and we were hugely relieved it wasn't lower. Sophie was wonderful and I'm sure gave E the confidence she needed and some vital consolidation which enabled her to achieve this result. R managed a B in his GCSE French which again was a huge relief and we have nothing but praise for the help Sophie gave him. He had 2 other B's and the rest were A's so a good day. I will of course be in touch as soon as we get to the point of needing more help for N. He's doing ok at the moment but we'll see how Year 9 progresses before deciding which areas might need your expert assistance. In the meantime, thank you for everything and I hope things are going well for you.

GCSE English seemed like an insurmountable challenge for R a year or so ago and we decided to give him a little extra help by contracting a tutor. Tom came to our house for just over a year and he is a thoroughly decent person who happens to be an excellent teacher. He was friendly, approachable and cultured and seems to have instilled in R a love of reading slightly offbeat American novels. Tom is an excellent tutor and I would be happy to recommend him to any parent or student.

Furthermore, she was able almost miraculously to step in and resolve a last minute crisis just before the deadline for filing T's form - only because she is so conscientious and reads her emails at all times, and has enormous experience. I engaged Ivy Tutors for my children aged 14, 12 and 7 following a strange period of "educational flux" which occurred when we moved from Kenya (on the English Curriculum) to Cape Town (South African system) for 9 months and then back to the UK.
