Sarah

University Consultant & School Leaver Options

Sarah has 14 years’ experience helping students with their UK and EU university applications. Her consultations are spent fine-tuning the link between a student’s subject selections at school (GCSE, IB, BTEC, A level) and their core interests. With an MSc in Careers, she enjoys encouraging students to make well-informed degree choices and helps them find opportunities to build a highly relevant personal statement. Sarah supports students who have extenuating circumstances or SEN concerns and takes a student-centred and considered approach to each application.

Sarah

Sarah has worked with Ivy Education for twelve years as an independent consultant, whilst maintaining the role as careers and university adviser at top independent London sixth form Brampton College for ten years. The majority of students go on to leading UK universities such as Oxbridge, UCL, LSE, Imperial, and KCL and all the Russell Group. She supports students with applications to a broad range of degrees including Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary schools, and helps students to make strategic choices, taking UCAT results into account. Sarah also ensures that students with any SEN or mitigating circumstances are correctly represented to universities.

With an MSc in Careers Guidance, Sarah’s expertise is in ensuring that students are confident in their decisions, whether it be subject choices from GCSE onwards or looking at alternatives to university. She has experience with introducing students to the many opportunities available including early career choices, apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships, internships and graduate schemes.

Educated at Sherborne School for Girls in Dorset, Sarah worked for ten years in industry, including a four-year spell in Spain before going to university. In 1994 she graduated from UCL with a degree in Modern Iberian and Latin American Studies and went on to be a journalist with Associated Press Television News. After starting her family, Sarah went back to university in 2011 to qualify with an MSc in Careers Guidance and then more recently in 2023 obtained a Diploma in Transformational Coaching.

Sarah has been a great help and has given I lots of extremely helpful advice which has even lead to her changing her mind on the course she now wants to do at university.

Mrs T Clapham

I was going to write to you in any event to say that Sarah has been brilliant. She has provided an outstanding service, of the highest standard and advice that has been invaluable. She has been available at all hours and always provided rapid and helpful responses. Furthermore, she was able almost miraculously to step in and resolve a last minute crisis just before the deadline for filing T's form - only because she is so conscientious and reads her emails at all times, and has enormous experience. We have all been immensely impressed and are very, very grateful. We feel we owe her a deep debt of gratitude.
