Maxine is in the unique position of having taught in both Primary and Secondary Schools and her students have successfuly secured places and earned scholarships to top day and boarding schools.
Maxine is in the unique position of having taught in both Primary and Secondary schools and is well versed in National Curriculum expectations across all Key Stages. Her private tutoring has continued alongside her classroom practice for several years and is now her sole focus. Maxine’s students apply to leading London day schools and boarding schools, successfully securing places and earning scholarships.
She specialises in 7+, 10 +, 11+ and 13+ preparation and GCSE English and Art. Maxine has successfully prepared her students for AQA, Edexcel and OCR examinations and advised on portfolio preparation to secure Art Scholarships. She has also prepared her students for interviews, putting them at ease and building their confidence without having them appear overprepared.
She focuses on building confidence and consolidating the skills required to succeed in entrance examinations to leading independent schools, including St Paul's, Godolphin and Latymer, Queen's College, Putney High School, Emanuel and Cheltenham College. Exam techniques are taught alongside encouraging a love of learning and lessons are personalised to suit the individual and their learning journey.
Maxine also mentors older students to develop and showcase their employability skills. This involves arranging work experience with museums, support with writing personal statements and interview practice.
