Passionate and inspiring, Rob has over eight years’ experience of classroom teaching and private tuition. With an MPhil in Multi-Disciplinary Gender Studies and a BA in Classics from the University of Cambridge, Rob has taught a wide range of ages and abilities across the humanities, and has helped students secure Sixth Form places at top independent schools such as St Paul's Girls' School, Westminster School, Bedales, King's College Wimbledon and at Oxbridge colleges.
He has also undertaken several home schooling contracts for students with SEN, securing them top marks in their chosen subjects. Having worked with many clients - providing everything from homework support, to teaching an entire syllabus and giving exam ‘crash courses’ - Rob is adept at balancing tangible short-term lesson objectives with long-term developmental goals, and understands intimately the skills and key knowledge that is required for success in each of the subjects he teaches. Rob currently teaches at the London Met Film School in Ealing Studios where he supports undergraduate students with story structure, theory and practice.
A tutor with a strong antenna for emotional wellbeing, Rob has a deep understanding of how a student’s relationship to education is often embroiled with how they see themselves as a young person. Rob passionately believes that learning is always more effective (and enjoyable!) if a student can see the practical application of the knowledge and skills they are acquiring.
