Expert 11+ Tuition Designed for Your Child
Tuition with Ivy Education is designed around each student and tutors efficiently address topics and concepts that have not yet been fully understood. We have many highly qualified and experienced Entrance Exam tutors, specialising in tutoring for the 11+ and the Common Pre-Test. We cover all subjects in English, Maths and Reasoning.
In Year 6, students might participate in 11+ exams for entry to schools in Year 7
Students will usually sit the ISEB Common Pre-Test, which is an online adaptive assessment in Maths, English, and Reasoning. Assuming they are successful, they will be offered a place. More competitive schools will require students to also sit 11 plus written papers in Maths, English, and Reasoning, but there is variation across unique papers created by the London Day Schools and the 11+ papers set by the ISEB
(Independent Schools Examinations Board).
Our 11+ tutors can cover every area of the primary syllabus to prepare students for these exams, whilst tailoring their approach to specific students. We work hard to match children with tutors who will be able to give specialised knowledge based on that child’s target schools.
Our ISEB & 11 Plus Tuition Includes:
Personalised Learning Plans
Our tutors recognise the needs of each student based on their target schools and strengths and weaknesses, personalising learning plans to ensure skill development in English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Parental Involvement
Our tutors communicate with parents to update their child's progress and offer strategies for continued support at home.
Exam Preparation
Our tutors guide students on exam preparation strategy, time management skills, and approaching different question types to boost confidence in tackling the 11+ written and ISEB Pre-Test formats.
Our Tuition Programmes Will:
Build Confidence
Utilising our expertise, we have crafted demanding and captivating tuition programmes, tailored based on the senior schools they are targetting.
Hone exam technique and maximise scores
Your child may not have taken examinations before, so it’s likely to be a new experience for them. Once they have the subject foundations in place, we show them how to apply that knowledge, improve their time management skills and feel more relaxed and confident about exam formats.
Prepare students for the most competitive schools
Such as Eton, Wycombe Abbey, St Paul’s, SPGS, Westminster School, Godolphin & Latymer, City of London, Emanuel, Alleyn’s, Dulwich College, Latymer Upper, and KCS Wimbledon and many more...
When should you start preparing for these exams?
As a general rule of thumb, students will start preparing for these exams approximately 12 to 18 months before exam dates. This seems like a long time, however, it is best to have tuition less intensively over a longer period of time. This will allow the student to work on gaps in their knowledge before graduating to exam focused work, honing their exam technique.
For an accurate lead time, we recommend taking one of our assessments to isolate strengths and weaknesses and benchmark your child against other students targeting the same schools.
