Duncan Roberts

Past roles and experience

Duncan was the head teacher of Honeywell Junior School for twenty years and prior to that he worked in two highly successful primary church schools in Wandsworth.

Whilst he was headteacher, Duncan developed and constantly refined an individual approach to helping parents find the suitable school for their children in both the Maintained and Independent sectors. In particular, he worked closely with a large number of colleagues in the State and Independent secondary schools, establishing excellent links with all.

Duncan is also currently a governor of a local primary school and was the chairman of the Local Authority Primary Schools’ Admission Forum. Consequently, he has a thorough understanding of the admission of children to reception classes as well as a comprehensive recall of the “pan – London” secondary admission process; a system which can seem initially daunting to parents.

Duncan has two children who attend (or are about to attend) a highly successful selective Maintained secondary school. He is able to provide first hand information about this and he is able to empathise with parents during what can be initially, a stressful process.
