What skills are tested in our Reasoning Mock Exam?

  • Verbal Reasoning: This section evaluates students' ability to understand and manipulate words, sentences, and logical relationships. Questions may involve identifying patterns, completing analogies, solving codes or puzzles, and comprehending written information.
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning: This section focuses on assessing students' spatial awareness, visual reasoning, and ability to solve problems using shapes, patterns, and diagrams. Questions may involve series completion, pattern recognition, shape analogies, mirror images, and rotation of figures.
  • Mathematical Reasoning: This section tests students' logical reasoning skills applied to mathematical concepts. Questions may involve number series, mathematical patterns, mathematical operations, and mathematical puzzles.
  • Analytical Reasoning: This section assesses students' ability to think critically, analyse information, and draw conclusions. Questions may involve logical deductions, syllogisms, logical puzzles, and problem-solving scenarios.
  • Spatial Reasoning: This area focuses on assessing students' ability to mentally manipulate and understand spatial relationships, including rotations, reflections, symmetry, and spatial transformations.

This is a higher-difficulty paper designed to help students gain entrance to the most selective schools in the country. It is recommended for students who are confident in tackling the medium-difficulty papers, and have a solid understanding of all aspects of the independent school entrance examination format, and has scored highly in other English, Maths, and Reasoning papers.
